I stumbled across an article titled False Hope vs. Real Change: An Anti-Partisan (Beyond) Voting Guide to the 2008 Election. (Click Here to Download Article)
Whether you agree with the idea of voting resistance or not, this is an especially informative piece of anarchist literature, which in my opinion shows us how we are to bring about change ourselves rather than put all of our trust in a bipartisan system or the political rhetoric of Obama and McCain.
I believe that as followers of Jesus, we are called to be politically aware and active, but how we go about involvement is what we need to try to discern with the help of the Spirit.I’m not trying to argue in favor of the right or the left. I believe that God’s kingdom does not fit into either of these categories.
I encourage everyone to read this, and I would gladly discuss the article with anyone.

Who are you?
I am now beginning to see your purpose
Why did I not learn about you growing up?
Why was church doctrine, discipline and theology
More important than your words?
Why do people use scripture out of context
to discredit your message?
I know you meant every word you said.
Why is there more of an emphasis on
Your divine nature than on following you?
Your critique of those that wield the sword
Is pushed aside in the name of redemptive violence.
Greed, wealth, and power
Are subverted through loving one another.
False idols and false prophets
Fill our minds with their propaganda.
Global Capital will not save us from ourselves
Only God’s economy of love and sharing can transform
Slowly and surely.
May we not give up hope.
Pray Thy Kingdom come.
Fill our hearts Lord
that we may be instruments of Peace.
All praise and Glory be to your name.
